Our journey into the world of alpacas started in 2008 when we began looking into small business opportunities in the hopes of diversifying in what was soon to be troubling economic times.  None of the franchise businesses we looked into excited us, and then one day we learned about all the financial advantages and tax benefits to raising alpacas and we were  really interested!  Here was a business that would currently help support us financially and allow us to live a country lifestyle in retirement!

After several months of serious research we decided to follow our hearts and pursue our dreams of raising top quality Hucaya alpacas and embrace the alpaca lifestyle!  Since then we have  immersed ourselves in studying everything from camelid health and nutrition, parasite diagnosis and treatment, to alpaca genetics and reproduction. We have attended many clinics and seminars.  We will continue to take the next few years to learn all that we can as we grow our herd.  We are very excited and enthusiastic about our involvement and future in the alpaca industry and feel fortunate to have surrounded ourselves with such knowledgeable and caring mentors as Nancy Johanson from Brookhollow Farms, Michele Armour and Rob Bruce from Rosehaven Farms and  Judith and Jeff Zimbalist from Chatham Alpacas who first introduced us to the world of alpacas and sold us our first girl Chatham Lancaster's Peruvian Lyric!

Ivy has grown up showing and raising dogs and horses  in both breed and performances classes. For the past few years she has been busy managing her kids' professional performance careers in theater, music, film and television.  Ivy is the resident farm manager and responsible for the daily care of the alpacas as well as researching bloodlines for prospective breedings.  She loves her job!

Scott Goldstein is an attorney by day and looking forward to the time in his life when he can be a full-time alpaca rancher!  He helps out with Herd Health Care and is the farm's evening and weekend #1 Farm hand!
